Photo Sharing - What's It All About?

If you've been online for even the shortest time, the chances are you've heard the term "photo sharing"...but what exactly does photo sharing entail? What's it all about?

Photo sharing is the term used to describe the ability of photographers and photo-enthusiasts to store, print, edit and present their favorite pictures to family, friends, and indeed the rest of the world, via a growing number of interactive websites which provide a way for you to publish a collection of digital photos online in a centralized and organized fashion.

The term can be applied to online photo galleries and video galleries as well as "photoblogs", i.e. blogs where the journal entries are centered around either one or a number of images.

Photoblogging has gained momentum in the past few years with the advent of the moblog, which provides a highly automated method of entering online journal comments via mobile phone. The popularity of cameraphones has added the potential to post a live photograph or video clip along with the journal entry.

Not all photo sharing sites are designed to function as photoblog engines, though they usually provide means to add descriptive text for the photo as well as receive comments from other users, effectively providing the same functionality.

Some sites focus purely on the images as the sole material to publish, providing such extra features as;

Personal image groups
Images in multiple sizes
Limited web-based image manipulation
Online organization tools
Image search
Licensing information

Not only is it possible to share photos online. There are some great ways to enjoy your most loved images as;
